Curacao, located in the south-western Caribbean, off the coast of Venezuela, is one of the preferred locations in the Caribbean for international businesses, tax planning and financial transactions.
On October 10, 2010 Curacao became an autonomous part of the Kingdom of The Netherlands. Its legal system is based on civil law and is similar in form to the legal structure of The Netherlands.

Taxes in Curacao
Curacao is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The Tax Arrangement between the Netherlands and Curacao (TANC) avoids double taxation within the Kingdom. The TANC subscribes that the source country will provide for a full exemption of dividend withholding tax subject to certain conditions. Curacao currently does not levy withholding taxes on outgoing dividends. Curacao also has tax treaties in effect with Aruba, Norway, and St. Maarten.
Corporate tax incentives:
The Foreign Profit Provision: exempts all foreign source income from profit tax provided that it is generated from transactions with non-residents.
The E-zone Company: benefits from a flat corporate income tax rate of 2% zone and can be used for the physical handling and the import and export of goods.
The Private Foundation: due to its exceptional flexibility, the Curacao Private Foundation is rapidly replacing alternative jurisdictions offering private foundations. It is an excellent estate planning and asset protection vehicle, tax-exempt and established in an OECD whitelisted jurisdiction;
The Curacao Investment Company: benefits from a flat corporate income tax rate of 2% and may be used for investment and finance activities as well as licensing of intellectual and industrial property rights and other comparable property and usage rights.
The IP Box: is similar to the Dutch IP Box provisions. Qualifying IP income is taxed against an effective tax rate of 5%.
